About Me
Roger Irwin is a media and well-being facilitator with a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from University of Pennsylvania. He helped start SeeingHappy.org, a non-profit that promotes well-being through photography. As a project manager and experience designer, Roger focuses on fostering positive psychology and self-actualization through visual media. His academic writing explores how cinema, photography, and coaching can be used as tools for well-being, and his work includes organizing international exhibitions and collaborative projects. Currently, Roger is seeking full-time employment while pursuing an ICF certification through Positive Acorn as a life and executive coach.

I recently completed my Masters in Applied Positive Psychology at University of Pennsylvania. I studied with 50 of the smartest, kindest, people coming from all over the world. While there, I wrote my thesis arguing for technology’s potential to build belonging and well-being. 💻
Over the past 3+ years, I’ve worked with organizations across non-profit, academia, and journalism sectors. Each space I’ve contributed to shares a common thread: a focus on designing intentional experiences that foster well-being, and empowering people to thrive both individually and as part of a community. 🤝
From spending as much time as I could growing up in NYC to earning my Bachelor of Science in Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, I’ve always felt a strong connection to vibrant big-city hubs of creativity, community, and adventure. 🌃
Since its start in May 2021, I’ve been working with SeeingHappy.org, a non-profit dedicated to promoting mindfulness and well-being through photography. We encourage people to capture and share meaningful moments, igniting a spiral of optimism that builds everyday happiness, resilience, and hope. With 8,000+ photos submitted from around the world and an annual audience of 30,000 visitors from over 75 countries, SeeingHappy continues to inspire communities through exhibitions, workshops, and international photo contests. 📸
